Homemaker

Our Homemakers Chris and Jasmine are able to provide light housekeeping duties, running of errands, meal preparation, and in some cases companion care (see details below).

Cost for a Homemaker (light cleaning only) is $25.00 per hour and we have minimum of 90 minutes. To find out more or to schedule Homemaker/Companion services, call us at 612-433-8627.  Homemaker Services can also be gifted by emailing director@comobnp.org.

Homemaker/Companion Services can include:

Meal Preparation

We can prepare hot, delicious, and nutritious meals, allowing the client to help with preparation according to their ability. Many do not have the opportunity to eat a well-balanced meal, so this service helps elders get the nutrition needed to enjoy healthier living.

Laundry
These services can be done in the home or the laundromat and include washing, drying, ironing, and putting clothes away. We will involve the client to make sure laundry is done according to their preferences.

Light Housekeeping
Light housekeeping services include vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms (sinks, tubs, showers, and toilets), cleaning kitchens (sinks, appliances, counters, taking out trash), straightening all rooms, organizing closets and drawers, and cleaning any interior windows that can be reached without a ladder.

Grocery Shopping/Errands
Let us shop for groceries at the stores of client preference or run errands, such as picking up prescriptions or going to the post office.

Respite Care or Relief for Family
Caregiving can be rewarding and often strengthens bonds within a family. At the same time, caregiving can be demanding amid life's other responsibilities. Family caregivers and those in their care can benefit from a little time off now and then. That is why Como Park/Falcon Heights Living-At-Home Block Nurse Program offers respite caregiving. This service can be scheduled as needed to provide family caregivers time to run errands, go shopping, or get some much-needed rest.
