Foot Care Services
(These services are available to Como Park and Falcon Heights Residents only)

Doing foot care
Our registered nurse, Nicole, will come to the home and provide foot care for nondiabetic seniors.

Foot care includes:
  • Cleaning feet
  • Trimming nails

To find out more or to schedule a foot care visit, please call us at (651) 642-1127. Cost for in-home foot care is $40.00 per visit.

What To Expect During a Home Foot Care Visit

The footcare nurse will take a history, including:
  • History of foot health
  • Current medications
  • Underlying disease
The nurse will then thoroughly examine your feet, documenting:
  • Foot structure
  • Foot health
  • Circulation
  • During the examination, you will be talked through the process, followed by information on prevention, health promotion, and services available to you in the community.
The treatment includes:
  • Foot soak and washing of feet
  • Trimming nails
  • Filing nails
  • Foot massage to promote circulation and lymphatic drainage

On a side note:
  • The nurse may make recommendations to visit the medical doctor if problems are discovered during the brief history and physical examinations. It is the participant's responsibility to follow through on the recommendation for best health and safety practices.
  • Expect the first appointment to take 60 minutes.
  • Optimally the nurse should visit every 4 to 6 weeks for people with underlying medical conditions and 6 to 8 weeks for maintaining healthy feet.
